Customer Service Representative-RCM

The Valera Health customer care representative is responsible for providing customer service and support to healthcare customers. The representative will be responsible for responding to customer inquiries, providing information about products and services, and resolving customer issues. The representative must have excellent communication skills and be able to build positive relationships with customers. You can expect to provide customer service and support to healthcare customers, respond to customer inquiries, provide information about products and services, and resolve customer issues.

Typical duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming calls & emails from customers with a 48-hour turnaround time.
  • Assist customers with requests for information, and complaints, making appointments, and resolving issues.
  • Collect copays and deductible payments.
  • Maintain and update customer and referral information.
  • Ensure patient forms contain all necessary billing information.
  • Research patient accounts when a phone call is required.
  • Take appropriate actions in Billing Software, such as flags claim edits.
  • Knowledge of accounts receivable and insurance verifications.

Education and Experience:

  • This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, but prefer candidates with an associate degree or higher.
  • Prior customer service experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of CPT codes, ICD 10 codes, and patient eligibility and benefits.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate calmly and diplomatically with customers, co-workers, and visitors.
  • Keen attention to detail, especially involving checking forms and documents for proper information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Proficient in customer service.
  • Knowledge of medical insurance procedures.
  • Active listening and comprehension skills.
