Overview of the Role:

Pelago Health is hiring a senior sales leader to build and scale net-new health plan and PBM partnerships—and expand revenue across lines of business. You’ll own strategy, team leadership, and end-to-end execution from first conversation through launch and growth.

This is a remote role based anywhere in the U.S., with <10% travel for client meetings, conferences, and internal events.

In this role you will…

  • Health Plan Strategy & Execution: Support Pelago’s payer strategy acquiring new logos and growing existing accounts by owning partnerships from first touch through contract, launch, and expansion.
  • Partnership Development & Revenue Growth: Source and multi-thread opportunities, lead executive-level pitches with clear clinical/economic value, and deepen long-term relationships with health plans and partners to drive sustained revenue.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Orchestrate Employer Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Clinical to ensure alignment, implementation readiness, and on-time delivery against partner commitments.
  • Industry Representation & Thought Leadership: Act as a market spokesperson at conferences and events while staying current on payer and digital health trends to position Pelago as an innovative leader.
  • Reporting & Strategy Refinement: Meet regularly with executives to review pipeline and remove blockers; analyze data and feedback to iterate the strategy and accelerate growth.

The background we are looking for...

  • 10+ years in digital health with a focus on payer partnerships and complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles—track record of closing high-value deals.
  • Deep relationships across insurers/Health Plans/PBMs; proven ability to multi-thread executive stakeholders and accelerate pipeline.
  • Executive communication & negotiation skills with command of ROI, clinical + economic value, and business-case storytelling for senior audiences.
  • Operational excellence: strategic account planning, accurate forecasting, root-cause problem solving on delivery issues, and disciplined Salesforce practices.
  • Builder mindset: comfortable with ambiguity; creative, resilient, and mission-driven—with willingness to travel regularly for partners and events.
  • Genuine curiosity about emerging technologies, including AI, and a proactive mindset toward exploring how they can enhance work, problem-solving, and innovation at Pelago.
