Chief of Staff
Nema Health
About Nema Health
Nema Health is a survivor- and clinician-led virtual treatment program for PTSD and trauma. We are on a mission to help trauma survivors find lasting peace and healing. Nema delivers intensive, evidence-based care that helps people feel better faster, and stay better longer.
We are building category-defining trauma care: combining clinical rigor, measurable outcomes, and operational excellence at scale. This is a pivotal stage for Nema. The next 12 months will materially shape the company’s long-term trajectory. We are looking for people who want to help build, not just participate. At Nema, you won’t just join a mission-driven company: you’ll have the opportunity to shape how it scales.
About the Role
We are hiring a Chief of Staff to serve as a force multiplier for Nema’s co-founding team (CEO, COO, CMO). This is a high-visibility, high-trust role for someone who wants proximity to strategy, real ownership, and accelerated growth.
You will operate across growth, operations, and clinical enablement — stepping into the company’s most important priorities and ensuring strategy translates into execution. As the Chief of Staff, you will increase the velocity, clarity, and effectiveness of the organization.
You will report directly to the CEO (with close partnership across the C-suite team). This role is ideal for someone intellectually ambitious, relentlessly resourceful, and deeply accountable. For the right candidate, it offers significant trajectory and exposure to executive decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Execution & Priority Management: Partner with the C-suite to translate strategy into execution, driving progress on the company’s highest-priority initiatives and surfacing risks, tradeoffs, and insights. Ensure the most important work actually moves
- Leadership Enablement & Force Multiplication: Act as a trusted thought partner and extension of executive leadership, stepping into gaps and taking ownership of high-impact work to increase leadership leverage
- Cross-Functional Alignment & Communication: Drive coordination and clarity across teams by synthesizing complex work into clear plans, timelines, and updates that enable strong execution
- Special Projects & Problem Solving: Lead high-impact, cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution, structuring ambiguous problems and developing recommendations to support decision-making
- Operating Rhythm & Systems Building: Help establish and refine operating rhythms, processes, and lightweight systems that improve how the organization works as it scales
- Evolving Scope & Organizational Impact: Continuously assess where you can add the greatest value, adapting responsibilities as company needs evolve and thoughtfully transition work to long-term owners over time
Qualifications
You will be a great fit if you:
- Are finishing an MBA or are 1–2 years post-MBA, or equivalent advanced degree combined with exceptional business acumen
- Have 3-5 years of prior experience in consulting, strategy, operations, or a similarly rigorous, problem-solving-focused environment
- Have worked within healthcare and understand the system generally
- Demonstrate unusually strong analytical and structured thinking skills
- Thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
- Have a bias toward action and accountability
- Are resourceful, persistent, and solutions-oriented
- Communicate clearly and confidently with executives, clinicians, and operators
- Can learn new tools and systems quickly (analytics platforms, CRMs, project management tools, healthcare workflows)
- Do not accept “no” without understanding the constraints
- Take ownership of outcomes — not just tasks
- Are motivated by impact, trajectory, and building something that truly matters
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience in behavioral health or care delivery services more specifically
- Exposure to early-stage startups or high-growth environments
- A track record of stepping into undefined roles and making them your own
- Experience supporting founders or executive teams
